Configuring the requirements

Restrict Unlock add-on will add a new meta box named “Restrict Unlock” on the points types, achievements and ranks edit screens.

At first time you will see just the Restrict option (on points types, there is the Restrict points awards and Restrict points deducts are the first options). Check it to enable unlock restrictions on this element and to show up all the hidden settings to setup them.

The first important setting to set is the requirements.

From this setting you will be able to setup the requirements an user needs to meet. This settings are similar to the GamiPress steps, points awards and deducts and rank requirements controls.

You will be able to set the next requirements by:

  • Points balance.
  • Rank reached.
  • Achievements earned.
  • Achievements of a specific type earned.
  • All achievements of a specific type earned.

Clicking on the Add Requirement button you will be able to add more requirements.

Restrict and grant access to user and roles

Restrict Unlock box includes the tab “Users” where you are able to restrict or grant access to unlock any element to specific users or roles:

You will be able to:

  • Restrict unlock by roles or specific users.
  • Grant access to unlock by roles or specific users.

Allow get access expending points

Setting the Unlock access by field to “Completing requirements” will bring to you two different setups to let’s user unlock access to earn this element:

1 – By just completing the requirements
Users will be forced to meet all requirements to get access to unlock.

2 – By completing the requirements or by expending points
Users will be able to get access to unlock without meet the requirements by expending points.

To let users to get access without meet the requirements just check the option Allow get access expending points and setup the points amount and points type required.

Unlock access by expending points

If you set the Unlock access by field to “Expending points” then users just will be able to get access to unlock this element by expending points.

With this setup you don’t need to configure any requirement since there is just one, the required points.

Get access button

The get access button will be visible automatically just if you setup this configurations:

1 – Unlock by completing requirements and allow get access expending points.
2 – Unlock by expending points.

There is a example output of how both will look:

Important: When an user gets access to unlock an element by expending points, after finish the loading process the user will get redirected to the unlocked element.

Now that you have been setup the needle requirements, you can, additionally, restrict or grant access to specific users or by role.
